From the desk
Why your stop was hit and the chart shows no wick
The bid can fall to your stop while the mid-price barely moves. Here is how to check whether that is what happened to you, using tick data rather than a feeling.
08 September 2026 · ExecutionWhat a 40-millisecond median fill actually buys you
Latency matters at the margin, and the margin is smaller than most people selling VPS packages suggest. What matters more is uptime.
05 September 2026 · AutomationThe four broker settings that quietly break expert advisors
Stops level, freeze level, volume step and hedging. Read them from the code on startup and design around the real numbers.
02 September 2026 · RiskTen losses in a row is not a freak event
At a fifty per cent win rate it happens roughly once in a thousand trades, and a busy trader takes a thousand trades a year. Size for it.
29 August 2026 · CryptoScaling a gold strategy to Bitcoin, properly
Hold every distance at the same multiple of the instrument's own spread. A fixed ratio produces a system that never fills or never survives.
26 August 2026 · ForexUSDJPY: the pair where your pip value keeps moving
Value per pip is not fixed in dollars on a JPY-quoted pair. Recalculating size rather than reusing it is the whole lesson.
What you will not find here
- Entry calls. A signal without your account size, your risk percentage and your stop is not actionable information, it is content.
- Screenshots of large floating profits. Floating money is not money, and a screenshot of it proves nothing about a strategy.
- Performance claims without the drawdown beside them. A return figure on its own is half a sentence.
